Prescriptions

How to Request a Repeat Prescription

Patients on regular medication can request their repeat prescription by using one of the following methods:

  • By leaving your computer printout or a written request in the designated box at reception. This tells us where you want to collect your prescription.
  • You may post or fax your request.
  • You can also register for repeat prescriptions online. You are also able to monitor the progress of your request with this system.

Repeat prescriptions are computerised and each time a new prescription is written a new  repeat prescription request form will be attached.

  • Please allow two working days for your prescription and longer if by post.
  • Tick which items you require.
  • Please try to order all of your prescription items together.
  • Please do not add unauthorised items to your repeat request slip as this causes delays.
  • Please leave a self addressed envelope if you require your prescription to be sent to you by post.
  • For medico-legal and safety reasons, prescription requests cannot be taken over the phone
  • Special arrangements will be made for people who are house-bound.

Requesting your Prescription Online

To use this service, which can be accessed using this link, you must first:

  • Register by completing an application form (available from the Surgery or this website) and
  • Produce some form of photo identification e.g. passport, photo card driving license.

Once your application has been processed you will be issued with your own personal registration codes. You will need these codes every time you wish to use the online services. Please allow 2 working days for us to process your application.

Pharmicists

The pharmacy can dispense both NHS and private prescriptions, can tell you about medicines and how to use them safely. They will take back unwanted medicines and dispose of them for you.

A pharmacist is available to talk to you in confidence about common illnesses and healthcare and you will find leaflets in the pharmacy to give you information on all sorts of health topics.

They aim to give the best possible service and always welcome your comments - if you are unhappy please tell them.
