Joint Injections

Dr Niraj Patel is trained to provide steroid injections for common musculo-skeletal conditions such as frozen shoulder, knee osteoarthritis and plantar fasciitis. This is a special joint injection clinic which takes place every month.

The need for steroid injection will be discussed by the doctor that sees you first and if appropriate you will be asked to book into the joint injection clinic. It is important to note that Dr Patel does not do certain injections, hence the need to discuss with a clinician beforehand. If it is not possible to do a certain injection in the clinic, you will be referred to the appropriate specialist clinic in the community or the hospital.

During the clinic Dr Patel will confirm the need for treatment, obtain written consent and give you an information leaflet. More general information on steroid injections can be found on the Versus Arthritis UK Website.
